w2 trial.
—THE SECOND TRIAL—
Once again, at 9 AM sharp, a familiar bell tolls to alert the hour. You've become familiar with the flow of things, haven't you? You know what tod o — find your answers before the final ring chimes. Even if you try to avoid it, eventually your legs will bring you towards where you know you'll have to be. The courtroom doors swing open, welcoming.
Come by again, and it looks just like last week. Take your seat on any one you wish, and peruse the table lined with (non-alcoholic) refreshments and snacks. The same sign, promising a lunch break. And of course, your observers, sitting by the jury's seat shuffling about a stack of papers. Ask your questions and they will answer.
The judge's seat shows the same message as it has always done: "GRANT WE THINE JUDGMENT — ABSOLVE THEE THINE GUILT," and the same, strange, incorporeal form stays seated at the high seat, hand resting unto a gavel's handle.

The same blue, translucent field prevents you from leaving freely once you're in. You know the drill, don't you?

SO LET ME TALK ABOUT THE AKEHAUTOPSY
[Maya taps the spot on her neck where the injury that probably killed Akeha]
There's a lot of neck missing here. Around fist-sized, a bit smaller at most. I couldn't tell much because it's such a messy thing. Despite she presumably having been in a fight I didn't find that many bruises. She did get a stab wound on her shoulder, probably made with some kind of blade. We may have to compare weapons against it, to figure out what made it.
There also was a handprint on her thigh. It's clear enough for comparison. We'll have to check our hands -- I'll get stuff to make a print of it so we don't have to go lie everyone's hands against Akeha's legs.
[So yeah! We have a potential check to make! It's unlikely it's Akeha's own hand, she thinks, so this may be a good lead]
Also, she had a sardine in her boobs. Thought you should all know.
The conclusion I get out of all this is that yes, there was a fight in that cathedral. The wound on her neck probably is what killed her. Given her profession the killer probably is a good fighter as well.

[In which case, goodness that's pretty messed up]
Or it may have been the killer cutting out a part of her neck because it incriminates them. There may have been a distinctive mark there, or something.

[ why does he know that? don't worry about it! ]

🌸🐧👻🔫
Another glitch starts distorting the townhall this time very badly. Your vision glitches, distorts, everything starts twisting in a double-vision of chromatic aberration — the observers and the judge seem to have it the worst, movements completely stuttering.
And suddenly..... the scent of spring fills the air, as cherry blossoms swirl on a lovely wind, enveloping you all. You feel a nudge at your feet, and look down to see... penguins! Holding up flowers at you! How nice is that? They also seem to be swooning over you, waddling and following you around for a few seconds.
At least, until ghosts suddenly show up. Yes, ghosts! They just kind of come in slipping through the walls, and also have guns, and while when they speak, all you "hear" is █████████ ████ █████████, you get the sense that they're fighting... over you, senpai.
Fortunately, before the penguins can bring out their own big guns, the place seems to forcefully glitch-reset back into place. The ghosts and penguins don't glitch out this time, more than it seems like they dissipate into... what looks like strings of code?
Also this time, even though the weird additions are gone, the townhall will continue to... ominously and bizarrely glitch at random intervals. ]

[Maya blinks, looks around, and for the umpteenth time she wishes she had a gun in her hands right now]
At this rate I don't think we'll last the full nine hours. All of you, be ready to get moving if something goes really wrong.
[Move, where? She has no idea, but hey, it doesn't hurt to be ready to run!]

Even penguins, made to withstand the harshness of the ice, must fall to oblivion sometime...

If there was a fight, then she may have left a mark on who killed her.

[For comparisons and maybe see if there's blood on it!]
